Jared Leto has spoken about the success of his band 30 Seconds to Mars' latest album, and how it marked a "new beginning" for them.
Following fears from fans of the rockers that Leto had turned his attention back to acting after his role in upcoming film Dallas Buyer's Club, the musician and actor has confirmed he will be focusing on the music in 2014.
A 30 Seconds to Mars worldwide tour is lined up for 2014, with shows in Asia, Australia and Europe. The concert will be off the back of their most recent album, Love Lust Faith + Dreams, which has been the band's most successful record to date, debuting at number 6 in the Billboard Hot 100 - and Leto says this achievement has given 30 Seconds to Mars a new lease of life.
"I think we set out to redefine, rediscover start again in new way. I think it's a new beginning for us…The new songs have really given us something very special," Leto told CBS. He also spoke of his love for touring, saying: "I suppose every time you make an album or go onstage you are sharing a piece of yourself, sharing a piece of your work. It's the thing about music that's really special - it's a community-oriented experience. It's a really social experience and that's a nice thing."

Leto also spoke frankly of upcoming documentary Artifact, which centres around the legal battle between 30 Seconds to Mars and their ex-label EMI, who sued the band for $30 million after they attempted to sign with a new label before their contract with EMI was up.
"We were battling for our dreams, for our music – for our creative lives, for our career. And we filmed every single second of this incredibly intense battle. It’s the 'David and Goliath' story about art and commerce…It provides a rare insight into how we work and how we do things," he said.
