AC/DC's original vocalist, Dave Evans, has offered to rejoin the band after Brian Johnson announced he'd been forced to stop touring - but for one performance only.
Earlier this week, on the day the band were supposed to perform in Atlanta, Georgia as part of their Rock Or Bust world tour, they announced that the tour had been cancelled.
A statement on the band's website said, "AC/DC are forced to reschedule the 10 upcoming dates on the U.S. leg of their 'Rock or Bust' World Tour. AC/DC’s lead singer, Brian Johnson, has been advised by doctors to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss."
This is just the latest setback for AC/DC. Back in 2014, founding member Malcolm Young retired after being diagnosed with dementia.
Now Dave Evans, who briefly performed with the band back in 1974 and once said, "Without me there would have been no AC/DC", has told The Sydney Morning Herald that he'd be up for reuniting with his band.
"It would be nice to do one guest performance," he said. "[Former members] were all part of the band no matters what era they were from." However, he insisted, "It'll never happen."
He continued, "So long as Angus is there in his uniform ... it's a branding thing now, the name AC/DC is almost bigger than the [members of the] band itself. It's a massive thing all over the world[...] The day Angus retires is the day AC/DC finishes."
