It didn't take long after the gates opened for the first rumours to start spreading - with the current word in the fields of Glastonbury being that The Kooks will perform a secret set this weekend.
Among the potential slots for a secret set is a space marked 'TBA' from 2.35pm - 3.30pm on the John Peel Stage on Sunday. eFestivals are now reporting that whispers around the Glasto site suggest that it could be The Kooks.
Speaking to Gigwise about the band's new, urban-influenced sound, frontman Pritchard admits he is shocked that listeners have been surprised by their evolution.
"It's early days, but I am sure that people have been pleasantly surprised," he continued. "With all bands, you get used to bands not moving on like they did in the 60s and 70s. It's actually quite a normal process, as musicians when they start out at 17/18. If you listen to Rolling Stones, The Beatles or The Clash when they were young you can hear it.
"People like Damon Albarn, who have smashed the idea of what people think of them. It's just natural, what you're meant to do. And there's not enough of that. What I am saying, is that I thought people would expect that."
Other potential (but wildly optimistic) acts marked as potential for a surprise appearance at Glastonbury include Prince, The Libertines, La Roux and Coldplay - but don't hold your breath, as anything could happen.
