Pop terror twins Jedward had to be rescued by a helicopter after finding themselves trapped on a sandbank in Dublin.
The X Factor and Eurovision stars are reported to have been walking along the coast of Malahide with a young relative when they soon found themselves stranded on the sands. Their mother Susanna Grimes then called the coastguard after the pair called her distressed, worried about the water coming further in.
"It was terrifying for the boys. They ended up on shifting sands completely surrounded by water. This could have been a terrible tragedy but for the Coast Guard finding them," she told the Irish Sun.
John Grimes, the 'J' in Jedward, added: "What we want to get across is how quickly this all happened. This got out of hand before we even realised. We would urge young people to be very careful around water and the sea. This could have been a tragedy but for the good work of the Coast Guard."
A 10-person Coast Guard had to wade through up to six feet of water in the middle of the night to reach them - eventually finding them 'very badly shaken' at 1am.
