Avon and Somerset police have revealed that 30 people were arrested at Glastonbury this year.

85 crimes that were reported within the first 48 hours of the festival opening, which is down 30% on 2013, with half of the incidents relating to thefts. When you take into account that roughly 120,000 people were on site, that's a pretty good ratio.

Police mentioned in a statement that they managed to track down a stolen phone using a tracking application.

"Thanks to a tracking app, we've been able to recover a stolen phone, which shows that they really do work," said Liz Hughes of Avon and Somerset police. "They are really useful and I would urge anyone who hasn't already got one installed to do so today.

"We've also arrested three men on suspicion of theft and this shows that there are a very small number of people who come here intending to steal and spoil the fun for everyone else," she continued. "While the arrests are a positive step, it's a reminder to us all to look after your possessions very carefully."
