A parody of Manic Street Preachers' classic 'Motorcycle Emptiness' which replaces the lyrics with the names of German footballers has appeared online. After their epic win against Brazil last night, what better time to enjoy it. Check out 'Mertesacker Emptiness' below.

The track was the brainchild of music journalist and Manics biographer Simon Price, who came up with the lyrics before YouTube user Zachery Stephenson recorded a karaoke version with the lyrics and made an accompanying video.

It fits perfectly well and is utterly awesome, and we can only beg for the Manics to perform it live should Germany win the World Cup.

Meanwhile, just before the Germany vs Brazil match, Manic Street Preachers performed an intimate but blistering in-store gig at Rough Trade East in London - performing only tracks from new album Futurology and their 1994 classic, The Holy Bible. Read our full report of the gig here

Manic Street Preachers will be performing at T In The Park and V Festival this summer. For more information visit Gigwise Tickets
