Jamie T played a surprise set on the Festival Republic Stage at Reading yesterday, news he announced a few hours earlier via Twitter.
The singer received a hugely enthusiastic welcome as he took to the stage just after 7.30pm, and he kicked off the set with 'Man's Machine', taken from his 2009 album Kings And Queens.
"It's nice to be back", he told the crowd before 'Don't You Find', the first track revealed from his forthcoming third album Carry On The Grudge.
The singer also performed tracks from his 2007 debut album Panic Prevention, which prompted chants of "Jamie T", especially during crowd favourite 'If You Got The Money'.
"I first came to Reading festival when I was 15 years old. I saw a band called Rancid playing," he said before a crowd-surfing filled rendition of 'Sheila'.
Jamie T will release his third album, Carry On The Grudge, on 29 September.
