Jake Bugg played a six-song acoustic set on the BBC introducing stage to a suprised yet delighted audience today (Saturday 23 August).

Performing ahead of being main support for Arctic Monkey's tonight, he demonstrated why he's become such a force in popular music as he was on excellent form. Each line was sung with heartfelt sincerity that made it an engaging , entertaining and memorable live experience.

The secret was well kept and he began performing to only a few hundred before people soon gathered as word spread during his set in the early afternoon. Watch out Leeds - it could happen to you tomorrow. 

'Slumville Sunrise' from his new album Shangri La, and set-closer 'Lighting Bolt' - a firm fan favourite were highlights.
