Ferrari have sent Deadmau5 a cease and desist letter after the DJ/Producer put his customised car up for sale earlier this year.
Affectionately known as the ‘Purarri’, the producer’s Ferrari 458 Spider was decorated as a homage to internet sensation Nyan Cat, which has a pop-tart body and flies through space with a rainbow trail behind it (obviously).
Deadmau5 took to twitter earlier this week to rant about the legal issues, stating that he had since taken the wrap off the car, whilst Ferrari are yet to comment on their issues with the customisation. See the series of tweets below:
I wonder if the jackass lawyer at @FerrariUSA who sent us a "cease and desist" letter over the purrari is un-butthurt now that I unwrapped.

Yeah it was mostly about the custom floor matts and the custom purrari badges. Whatever. It's just a normal ass 458 now. All good.

Deadmau5 did however make good use of the custom car, taking it around Europe on the Gumball 3000 rally earlier this summer.
The DJ/Producer will play the iTunes festival this week in London. Stay tuned to Gigwise for ongoing coverage across the month of events at The Roundhouse throughout September.
