In honour of the Thin White Duke, Chicago has declared that 23 September will offically be 'David Bowie Day'.
The celebration comes to mark the arrival of the brilliant David Bowie Is... exhibition in the town - featuring a wide spectrum of items, photography, clothing, footage, memorabillia and more from Bowie's vast archives.
In his official proclamation, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel hailed Bowie as "an undisputed global icon boasting a catalogue of 26 critically acclaimed studio albums,” whose “remarkable half-century career has bridged cultures and faiths while both transcending and fortifying the music, art, fashion & design, and theatrical canons."

While he shows no signs of touring (nor does he need to), Bowie is set to release a new 'best of' compilation called 'Nothing Has Changed' on 17 November - featuring the new song 'Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)'.
