Proving yet again why he is completely impervious to any insult, James Blunt has responded to Noel Gallagher's accusation that he is boring.

Gallagher, who during this album campaign so far railed against free music, Ed Sheeran, Sleaford Mods and Ocado, was recently asked by Edith Bowman if his songs were autobiographical. He responded: "If I wrote songs about my own life, they would be more boring than James Blunt. If that's at all possible, which we all know, of course, it's not."

Blunt responded on Twitter over the weekend:

This is not the first time the pair have come to blows. Back in 2006, Gallagher complained to MTV that Blunt was making more money than he was.

"Did you see the rich list? I wasn't in it for third year running," he said. "James Blunt has supposedly got nine million quid. He's only been going a year!" More succinctly when Gallagher was asked what he wanted for his 40th birthday in 2007 the Oasis guitarist simply requested "The head of James Blunt".

Tonight (2 February) Noel Gallagher plays an intimate show at The Dome in London's Tufnell Park and it has been announced he will also be headlining the Calling Festival. The full list of dates is below. Tickets are on sale now. For tickets and more information click here.
