Slipknot's new drummer paid his respects to the late Paul Gray before joining the band, it has been revealed.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, percussionist Shawn Crahan (aka the clown), opened up about the new album .5 The Gray Chapter. Stating how it had been an incrediblly emotional and angry record for the band to make, especially with departure of Gray being the driving force behind it.
Part of the writing included the indoctrination of their new and yet to be identified drummer (rumoured be be Jay Weinberg, son of Bruce Springsteen's drummer Max Weinberg). Which saw Crahan take their newest member to Gray's graveside in Iowa.
"I made him pay his respects and say hello," Crahan says. "I told him what we're gonna do, and we got on a fucking plane and flew to fucking L.A."
