One Direction are the first act to be confirmed for the 30th Anniversary Band Aid recording, it was reported today. It is thought that proceeds from the single will be used to fight Ebola.
Bob Geldof is rumoured to also be intent upon securing the involvement of Alt-J, Florence and the Machine, Ben Howard and Adele for the charity single.
It is being reported that a music insider told the Sun newspaper about the confirmation and said: “As with previous Band Aid releases, there’s likely to be a mix of credible and pop acts featuring on the recording.”
The original recording was released in 1984 and rerecorded in 1989 and 2004. The past recordings can name the likes of Paul McCartney, U2, Kylie Minogue and Thom Yorke in their ranks
