Youtube has finally launched it's own music streaming service, set to rival Spotify, Rdio and other popular streaming sites.
Called Youtube Music Key, the subscription service will run as an invite-only beta for some time, before being made available worldwide.
Youtube have revealed the service will cost £9.99 a month, and that cost will allow users to download ad-free music videos for offline use, as well as offering access to a wealth of music from both indie and major labels, taking the audio-only aspects of the current available streaming services into exciting new territories.
Invitations for the beta will reportedly be sent out to certain individuals in the coming weeks, with the video-giant explaining in a press release: To turn YouTube into your perfect music service, we're launching YouTube Music Key as a beta with our biggest music fans first, and then we'll bring YouTube Music Key to the whole world together."
Streaming has become a hot topic in the last month, with Spotify sitting at the centre of a heated debate on the benefits of streaming music.
Taylor Swift removed her albums from the service, and seemingly has no intention of reuploading them, a move which prompted Spotify's CEO to issue a statement detailing the website's positive effect on the industry.
