Jennifer Lawrence's Lumineers' assisted track 'The Hanging Tree' for The Hunger Games looks set to enter the official chart this Sunday,.
Despite recently describing herself as a "tone deaf Amy Winehouse", Lawrence's musical contribution to the blockbuster has found the odds in her favour. She's clearly more musical then she thinks - clearly her declaration to Elizabeth Banks "I'm a badass because I recently started downloading whole albums instead of just songs from artists" has paid off.
The track has currently risen to number 17 in the charts according to the Official Charts Company and is now number seven in the UK iTunes chart.
The Lumineers recorded a melody for 'The Hanging Tree' the song that appears in the book and that director, David Lawrence, wanted included in the film.
The director told the Radio Times that Jennifer Lawrence: "was horrified to sing, she cried a little bit in the morning she had to sing."
"But she did it and she did it all day - and she hated me for making her do it all day - but she did and it's great. She'll probably never really understand it because she's so sensitive about the singing."
Despite this chart success, Lawrence's track doesn't appear on the Lorde' curated soundtrack to Mockinjay, alongside the likes of Chvrches, Tove Lo, Raury and Bat For Lashes.

Based out of Denver, the band released their self-titled debut album in 2011 and have built up a devout following on the roots revival circuit.
