Robbie Williams has revealed he will release a new album next Monday (1 December), on the same day as his former band Take That release an album.
In a surprise video sent to members of his fan club, the 'Angels' singer announced he will release Under The Radar Volume 1 next week. Consider it the daytime radio equivalent of Bruce Springsteen's 'High Hopes': a fan pleasing stop gap of rarities that hopefully reminds his devotees why they admired him in the first place.
In the clip, Williams explained the album will be made up of previously unreleased tracks that were meant to appear on various other albums he has made, saying: "Here's a bunch of tunes that i'm very proud of, love to bits and want you to hear them".
A tracklist has yet to be announced for the record, nor are there details on whether it will be receiving a physical release, with the video merely stating that it will be available on 1 December, presumedly through Williams' website.
Williams has said however that his collaborators are less than thrilled with the idea of him releasing the tracks in this manner. "I'll let you into a secret, Guy Chambers isn't happy with me putting these songs on this album. He thinks I'm a lunatic for not putting them on an album that we've promoted with TV performances and at radio stations and a big tour. But I'm an impetuous bugger, and I want them out now, now, now!"

More information is expected soon, for now though fans are recommended to check Williams' website on Monday morning.
