Gerard Way has revealed he will move away from the Britpop direction of his solo album Hestiant Alien and record a new LP that will sound like ''old soul music.''
Speaking to NME, the MCR frontman has ditched the Blur and Supergrass flavoured inspiration in favour of a more soulful direction.
''[I have] changed things up again," said Way. "The stuff I've been writing recently feels a lot more akin to songs like [Hesitant Alien track] 'Get The Gang Together' - it feels like it's moving in a garage-y, old soul music kind of direction."
He plans to record the record in September 2015. ''I want to use horns, backing vocals, things like that. Even though I do the majority of my writing on the guitar, I don't know how prominent it's gonna be. So it's moving in a different direction, for sure.''
