Here is the news that you've all been waiting for, the Sony Walkman is coming back again - this time as a hi-res audio player.
The resurrection will see the previously rudimentary tape player brand given a modern day makeover, allowing it to play high fidelity audio files. Inside is an S-Master HX processor, which is used to justify the rather gargantuan price-tag of $1200.
Coming with a total of 128GB in storage, a micro-SD slot, wifi, bluetooth and NFC capabilities and running off Android it has a lot in common with that smartphone you have in your pocket.
As of yet the model is yet to receive a release date. It is the second time that the electronics giant has brought back the name, last year releasing a model for $300 that included lossless codec support.
