The Weeknd was arrested on Saturday after allegedly assaulting a Las Vegas police officer.
The fight apparently happened at the Cromwell hotel in Las Vegas when the Canadian singer Abel Tesfaye was involved in an altercation at about 4am. Las Vegas Metropolitan police department information officer Laura Meltzer said her and fellow officers were trying to break up a fight involving the singer and a 'protected person', when Tesfaye hit an officer on the side of the head with a closed fist.
The officer was not seriously injured and after Tesfaye was presumably bailed, the 'Love Me Harder' singer posted the following picture on his Instagram:
The Weeknd released his last album 'Kiss Land' in 2013 and recently revealed new track 'Earned It' which will appear on the soundtrack to the forthcoming movie adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey.
