Sam Smith has revealed that he is flying to the US for treatment for his 'fucking horrid' illness that has left him unable to speak or sing.
The 'Stay With Me' hitmaker was forced to cancel gigs in Australia, and recently more in Japan and the Philippines, due to ongoing issues with a haemorrhage.
"Very upset about Japan and Manilla dates," he told fans via Instagram. "I've just left Australia and I'm on my way to the states to see a specialist to see what to do from there... This is fucking horrid.''
He recently admitted that he hadn't ''spoken a word in three days'' in a bid to get his voice back.
''Just to let all my beautiful fans know, I'm OK," he wrote on Instagram. "I am insanely relaxed and am somewhere in the middle of Australia with no phone, no laptop and I haven't spoken a word in three days.''
It is hoped that Smith will be well enough to complete his summer of festival shows, including a special headline gig at Thetford Forest on 3 July. For tickets and information, visit here.
