Sum 41 are reportedly working on a new album following Deryck Whibley's recent struggle with alcoholism.
Frontman Whibley was admitted to hospital last year after years of heavy drinking caused his liver and kidneys to collapse, leading doctors to admit he was "lucky to be alive".
The news comes after the pop-punk band posted the following message on Facebook, revealing they had been playing together again: "An amazing day of running through a set of old songs," the message reads. "After 2 years not playing together the band sounded tighter than ever. had a great time playing the old ones. tomorrow we work on the new ones!".
Speaking to Noisey earlier this year, the 35-year-old 'Fat Lip' singer spoke out about the severity of his condition: "Everything shut down before any more damage could happen. To walk out of there alive, without cirrhosis or needing transplants... you know, it could have been worse."
Of his recovery, Whibley said: "I think it was the right time in my life for it to happen. I'm glad it happened now and not when I'm like, 50, because my body wouldn't have been able to handle it. But it's unfortunate that it had to even come to that."
