Despite ever-increasing rumours that Adele would be playing Glastonbury this year, Emily Eavis has denied that the singer will be performing at the festival in Somerset.
Festival bookers are all too familiar with Adele's stance that 'she doesn't do festivals'. The Eavis family were nonetheless hoping that that rule would be broken for Glastonbury, as they've wanted to book her for years. Fans' hopes were further raised recently when a "source" told The Daily Mirror that negotiations were underway between the singer and Glastonbury.
However, Emily Eavis has told The Sun that's it's not to be: "I would love Adele. To have Adele would be a complete dream, but she's not going to be here this year." Ever secretive when it comes to rumours, she added, "That's the only denial I will do."
So far the only confirmed headliner for the festival is Foo Fighters, who will play the Pyramid Stage on Worthy Farm. Lionel Richie has also been confirmed, whilst other rumours include Queen + Adam Lambert, Taylor Swift, Elton John, The Libertines, Noel Gallagher, Prince and many more.
Another rumour which Eavis has commented on is Florence & the Machine, about whom Emily Eavis told NME in an interview, "I love Florence and also it'd be great to have her on the Pyramid Stage, she's never played there before," adding, "I think she could headline, definitely."
Glastonbury Festival 2015 takes place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from 24 - 28 June 2015.
