Catfish & the Bottlemen have been forced to cancel their upcoming shows in Japan and Australia just before setting off due to a wave of illness across the band and crew.
Through their Facebook page this morning, the Welsh rockers announced their reluctant withdrawal from the tour and apologised to a mass of disappointed fans. Their first Australian shows was set to take place in Melbourne tonight. Here's what they had to say:
"It is with huge regret that, due to illness in the band and crew, Catfish and the Bottlemen will not be playing their planned shows this week in Australia and Japan; including Splendour in the Grass and Fuji Rocks festivals."
"The band are obviously absolutely devastated not to be making the trip and hope fans will understand."
While the Australian festival 'Splendour' have efficiently replaced the band with the Australian dance-punk duo, DZ Deathrays, Reading and Leeds festival organisers have quickly confirmed that the ill-stricken band will still be honouring their August slots.

Hopefully this won't affect the band's aim to become an unforgettable stadium band.
