The driving, electric guitar-led performance came complete with frontman Adam Granduciel's trademark 'woahs' and showcased the band's ability to create transporting soundscapes that lead you to directly to the gritty Springsteen-esque America of old.
The massive festival from BBC 6 Music is taking place in Newcastle and Gateshead this weekend, a year after the inaugural event in Manchester, with thousands of tourists believed to be heading up north for the big event.
