An independent record label will release a satirical seven inch record entitled The Wit and Wisdom Of Nigel Farage to coincide with the General Election.
Alcopop! Records, who already achieved notoriety by claiming the domain of UKIP's website, have now attacked the party in a brand new way. Recreating Stiff! Records parody off Ronald Reagan in 1980, the label will be releasing a seven inch entitled 'The Wit and Wisdom Of Nigel Farage' which will be completely blank.
The #VotePop 7 record will be released on the week of the General election (4 May) and a portion of profits will go to The Migrants Rights Network. The track wil be backed by a remix of the silent track by Enter Shikari's Rou Reynolds - so you can expect ambient noise, seagull cries, dripping taps etc.

Jack Clothier of Alcopop! Records said: “We’ve always thought that Stiff Records Reagan 7” was about the best thing that’s ever happened, and it felt like it was the right time to take a leaf out of their book. We’re not a massively political label, and we’re not trying to tell people who to vote for. We’re just genuinely terrified at what could happen to this country if people listen to the slick, media savvy cult of Farage rather than actually looking at his policies... So anything we can do in our small way to make people question his political motives is something we’re delighted to be involved in.”
Alcopop! is the home to an impressive roster of acts including Acollective, Sam Duckworth, Johnny Foreigner and Gigwise favourites Waylayers and Brawlers.
