The Charlatans have made headlines after taking on Ronan Keating, coming to blows with the Boyzone mum-magnet by calling him 'shit' at a private gig.
The Mirror reports that the indie veterans were in attendance at a private party were Keating was performing for 'music industry big wigs' where 'everyone was sloshed' - before guitarist Mark Collins began to yell 'you're shit'.
Apparently, an allegedly also slightly inebriated Keating confronted the band after his performance.
“Ronan was midway through a track when Mark yelled: ‘You’re shit’," a source claims. "He said it several times and it was all a bit embarrassing. Mark thought he was having a laugh but Ronan went and spoke to him.
"It looked like they were really angry. Luckily in the morning they could see the funny side of it.”
Keating and frontman Tim Burgess have since been involved in an awesome song-referencing round of Twitter banter about the incident:
