Nicki Minaj has claimed that the 'Anaconda' video is just about "what girls do" when they're with their friends.
Speaking to GQ, the rapper spoke in detail about the video, whilst apparently falling asleep during the interview. She revealed that instead of aiming to shock, it was a more innocent portrayal of what girls get up to in private.
“I think the video is about what girls do…," Minaj told the publication. "Girls love being with other girls, and when you go back to us being younger, we would have slumber parties and we’d be dancing with our friends.”

Another aspect of the video that Minaj chose to address is the overtly prevalent presence of brands, including Beats, Matefit, Victoria's Secret and Air Jordans just to mention a few.
"My management team has a division that has a guy that his main focus is to go out there and find new brands for me to do business with or to find brands that would like to be in our videos and contribute to our budget,"
