The full band are now working together

The long-awaited new Tool album is moving forward as an update confirms Maynard James Keenan has now joined the band in the studio.
10,000 Days was the last offering from the band, which was released all the way back in 2006. Since then lawsuits and Keenan's lack of involvement with the band have held the process back. Now an Instagram post from guitarist Adam Jones shows all the members of the band working together in the studio, which is a huge step forward.
Previously Maynard told Rolling Stone that he was waiting for the rest of the band to finish composing the instrumentals. "I don't write the music. They write the music," he told the magazine. "I wait for them to bring music to me. They tend to go back over and over stuff. It's a long process. For a person like me, it can be a very tedious process."
Which means that if Maynard is in the studio, the recording of the album is very likely to be underway. We're still praying for a 2015 release, although judging by the fact it's taken eight years to get this far, it's probably best not to jinx it.
