Neon lights, flares and colourful paper adorned The Killers’ headline set, closing the second day of Lollapalooza Argentina. The set was explosive and energetic, captivating the crowd right from the start with ‘The Man’ and their hit, ‘Somebody Told Me’.

Brandon Flowers saw a punter in the crowd with a placard that said, “my dream is to play drums for you” so he invited him on stage to do exactly that. Minutes after, the punter turned out to not be up for it, so he invited a young Argentinian drummer called Augustin on stage, who garnered a roaring ovation from the crowd for his performance of ‘For Reasons Unknown’.

Elsewhere at the festival, Wiz Khalifa unfolded his flow on the alternative scene, holding the crowd in the palm of his hands during his song ‘So High’. Hip-hop fans had their very own festival closer set thanks to Wiz. His love for marijuana runs so deep that he even had his own brand of cannabis that appeared in the form of two huge blow-up spliffs on stage.

Earlier, Liam Gallagher had his rematch after a very poor show on Thursday. There, the ex-Oasis frontman suffered some technical issues and spent his time insulting the sound engineer because of it, to the point where he then had to tweet an apology from his Twitter account. The show that followed was much better, however. With a festival set focused on Oasis tunes, the younger Gallagher brother managed to clean his slate and thrive.

Two shows in particular stood out from the rest: on one side, Mac Miller’s debut set in Argentina was out of this world, and on the other, there was Lana Del Rey. Mac Miller hit Lollapalooza with the same velocity his tunes have – at one point he asked the whole crowd to chant, “Fuck Trump!” and everyone listened. At just 26, the rapper has a flow reminiscent of Eminem’s, shooting fire in his verses with unwavering ferocity.

In Lana Del Rey’s case, she won the crowd over with her sheer demureness. Her presence is commanding like that of a Hollywood actress, and it was impossible not to be entirely captivated by her performance.
