Metric have revealed new single 'The Shade', which is set to feature on their forthcoming sixth studio album due to be released this year. Check it out below.
'The Shade' carries forth their trademark indie synth-pop blueprint which they have mastered over a 17 year career, which covers grand topics such as 'eternal love'. The new track is synth heavy, featuring an uplifiting chorus seeing lead singer Emily Haines crying "I want it all."
Their return has been anticipated since Haines wrote to fans earlier this year: "It is really sinking in that my hibernation is officially over. This moment arrived sooner than expected! As you may have heard, we’ll be back on tour in June with new songs to rock your faces off and make you want to dance whilst crying! You know, the usual."
The album will be the group's sixth effort, following 2012's Synthetica, further details of the album are expected soon. The group are set to embark on a tour of the US and Canada with Imagine Dragons throughout June.
