After supporting bandmate Chad Smith during his drum battle with lookalike Will Ferrell, Red Hot Chili Peppers gave a surprise performance on Jimmy Fallon yesterday (22 May). Watch it below.
The band performed two songs on the US talk show, a cover of Funkadelic's 'Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On', and part of 'Give It Away.' Their instruments were even plugged in this time (unlike at the Super Bowl).
"We couldn't let them leave without one more song", said host Jimmy Fallon, before the band performed alonside The Roots.

Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith had performed earlier in the show in a drum battle with comedian Will Ferrell, with whom he bears a striking resemblance.
Earlier this year, the band confirmed that they are currently working on material for the follow-up to their tenth studio album I'm With You, which was released in 2011.
Meanwhile, Red Hot Chili Peppers will be returning to the UK to headline Isle Of Wight Festival alongside Biffy Clyro, Calvin Harris, Kings Of Leon and many more. Isle Of Wight Festival 2014 takes place from 12 - 15 June. Tickets are on sale now. For more information, visit Gigwise Tickets.
