"It almost feels like we should name an album 'Fall Out Boy' was great until they put this one out," laughs Pete Wentz, looking over some fans' reaction over their ever-evolving sound. "They were my favourite and I hate them now!"

And the band's chameleon nature as they made their genre defying journey through the realm of rock from Take This To Your Grave to American Beauty/American Psycho is what has helped them evolve into the arena-crushing tour-de-force they are today - because the essence of the band remains unchanged.
"The most important thing is that you cared the whole time," Patrick Stump tells Gigwise. "I think that's what our fans expect - I hope that's what they expect.
"I think it's cool to make mistakes and mis-steps and make records that people don't necessarily get - because that meant you tried and you weren't just following the script. You watch a lot of bands do that and it's almost as sad as the the little guy in the little bar band being like 'yeah, fuck Axl Rose!'"
