"Here's my routine: I wake up, I eat breakfast, I play GTA V then I soundcheck," SOAK tells Gigwise of her routine on tour not letting her Mercury Prize nomination get to her head, "nit the support in Northern Ireland has always been incredible, so coming home was like a victory lap."

With debut Before We Forget To Dream sweeping the Irish singer-songwriter's life off her feet, has she had any time to pen new material?
"I try to, I think we've finished one song on the road," she tells Gigwise. "By touring with a full band production and everything, I'm kind of starting to write for a full band and thinking of a lot more aspects that I didn't consider before. We've got one song finished now which is quite good, considering."
So will just a fuller sound or will SOAK go death metal?
"I think like screamo, heavy metal, with a cross of like Madonna...not really, I don't know! I feel like the next step and album I make is going to be quite different to the one that's out now. Mainly because this one took like, five years. The next one I'm hoping to do quite quickly.
But more importantly, has she completed GTA V yet?
"I have, twice, because I've got a PS4 and you need like £40million or whatever to spend on planes."
Did completing it feel better than a Mercury nomination?
"Definitely not! It was short-lived."
SOAK will play Koko in London on Tuesday 22 March. For tickets and information, visit here.
