Pulled Apart by Horses are back with their third album, Blood, released on 1 September 2014. On the strength of the band's new single, 'Lizard Baby', it's set to be their best release yet. The track was premiered tonight on Zane Lowe's Radio One show, listen to the online premiere below.
The track is a grunge-influenced slice of lo-fi rock, but at the same time has all the hallmarks of a future anthem, with a call and response verse and an explosive, unforgettable chorus. The track rolls swiftly on a hazy, laidback groove and will blow the tent-pegs out of the floor when heard at any festival, ever. Alongside the likes of Royal Blood, Pulled Apart By Horses are breathing a breath of fresh air back into the UK rock scene in 2014 with vibrancy and bold, explosive, yet accessible and instant sounds.
Speaking of the track, frontman Tom Hudson says: "I guess it vaguely touches on the media and public attention given to people in the lime light and how people can adopt alter egos or change with power.
"There’s also a bit of a dig at bands and performers who put on a false show or a contrived act."
