Former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has launched his solo career by debuting new single 'Action Cat'. Check it out below.
Taken from his upcoming solo album, the track is a simple and steady blast of pure and joyful pop-rock, similar to the direction that MCR took on their final album, albeit with less drama but a lot more fun.
'Action Cat' also features features Ian Fowles (guitar) of The Aquabats and Matt Gorney (bass). Jarrod Alexander, who toured with MCR during the band’s final shows, contributes drums to the albu while Gerard’s brother and MCR member Mikey has also contributing backing vocals to a track.
Last month Gerard Way marked the launch of his new website with a statement which explains his future plans: "I am continuing full-steam into comics, art, and more importantly to some of you- music. I am pleased to let you know I am now signed as a solo artist Warner Bros. Records.
"My album is near completion, and you should expect to hear things in the near future, even today actually- with a brief snippet of what is to come. I am excited. It’s starting again.”
