Foo Fighters have agreed to play a gig in Richmond, Virginia, that was organised by fans without the band's knowledge.
Over the past three months, 1,400 Foo Fighters fans in Richmond have purchased tickets to a show that doesn't exist, in the hopes that it will persuade the band to visit the city for the first time in over 15 years.
In a video posted alongside the campaign's crowdfunding site, which was powered by Crowdtilt Open, Andrew Goldin explains: "Foo Fighters, one of the biggest bands ever, and for years they've played all over the world... but there's one place they haven't played in over 15 years - Richmond, Virginia.
"We need a Foo Fighters rock show in Richmond, Virginia, this year. We're selling 1,400 tickets to a concert to be held somewhere in Richmond, sometime in 2014. The exact location and date to be determined."

The video goes on to explain that credit cards will only be charged if the show sells out, and that fans will get their money back if the band don't end up playing.
Thankfully, Foo Fighters tweeted last night to confirm that they will be attending the gig, despite having had no knowledge of it when tickets went on sale.
