M.I.A took to this weekend yesterday to release a new track - the first music she has brought out since 2013's Matangi. Listen to it below.
The Sri Lankan singer kept fans on their toes though, changing her mind at the last minute about what song to release. She originally tweeted to say that she would be releasing a song called 'All My People', but eventually decided upon 'Can See Can Do' instead, promising to release 'All My People' when 'all [her] people are ready'.

The declaration that she wouldn't be releasing 'All My People' yet was a cause of great distress for many fans, who responded saying 'we are!'. However, everyone seemed satisfied by the replacement track, which you can listen to below.
The track sees M.I.A on top form, bringing in her signature heavy bass and getting underway with the vocals; 'Can see, can do, can see can do can you? / Can we get past history, wanna make a future with you'.
The track was released via soundcloud accompanied by the caption 'DEMOCRACY CONVERSATIONS ! TAMILS ARE STILL WAITING ! AND NO MY BEATS ARE NOT BETTER WITHOUT MY POLITICX.'
M.I.A tweeted 'to my hardcore fans hang in there summer is coming'. A cryptic hint at more music to come, perhaps?
