Brett Morgen, director of the new Kurt Cobain documentary Montage Of Heck, has compared the people writing conspiracy theories about his film to "holocaust deniers."
The film, which was released in the UK last month, featured previously unseen footage of the Nirvana frontman, who committed suicide in 1994. Produced by the musician's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, it premiered on US television on Monday (4 May).

Speaking ahead of the premiere to The Pulse Of Radio, director Brett Morgen said, "Prior to anyone seeing this film, the 'Holocaust deniers,' as I like to refer to them, started writing conspiracy theories about my movie."
He continued, "Now this is before anyone's seen a frame. These are people who supposedly like Kurt, I would think, and here's a movie I'm making in which we're gonna share with the world all this material about Kurt, and in fact we're not even going into the last month of his life. And so why would they then start writing conspiracy theories about my movie? And that tells you everything you need to know."
Though Cobain's death from a gunshot wound is widely accepted as suicide, there are a small but persistant group of fans who believe he was murdered.
