Louis Walsh has reportedly been sacked from his role on The X Factor judging panel, after it was recently announced Mel B will not be returning for another season.
According to The Sun, Simon Cowell had a one-to-one meeting with Louis to tell him he wouldn’t be needed for the next series: 'Viewers had become sick of Louis’s constant use of tired clichés and the same old jokes. He’d been doing it for 11 years and it seemed like he was just going through the motions.’
Rumours of a big 'shake-up' at The X Factor HQ have been rife for months, and the veteran judge's departure will see a significant change in the dynamic viewers have come to expect from the reality programme.
An X Factor spokesman however, has revealed: ‘No formal decisions have been made regarding the full panel for this year’s series.’
