After making international headlines yesterday by claiming that his group Odd Future 'may be no more', Tyler The Creator has confirmed that his comments were taken out of context.

Writing on Twitter the rapper explained "ALL I WAS DOING WAS LOOKING AT OLD PHOTOS WITH FRIENDS AND THINKING ABOUT HOW TIME FLIES, CRAZY HOW ONE TWEET CAN STIR SO MUCH." That message has now been retweeted over 4,600 times. He also performed last night at Primavera in Barcelona, confirming once again why he is one of the most incendiary acts in hip-hop - with or without his collective.

As previously reported, in a series of tweets yesterday Tyler seemed to imply that the group were "no more".

Part of the reason this story was taken up so quickly is that it makes sense that the band would now split to puruse other projects. As well as Tyler and Earl Sweatshirt's critically acclaimed albums, other members of the collective have gone on to differing degrees of stardom. Frank Ocean's currently untitled followup to Channel Orange, set for release in July and recorded at Abbey Road studios in London is one of the most eagerly anticipated albums of the year. Syd Tha Kyd and Matt Martians perform under the Google unfriendly alias 'The Internet' while Hodgy Beats and Left Brain have also continued to put out material.

Tyler The Creator recently released his album Cherry Bomb, featuring guest appearances by Kanye West and Lil Wayne.
