Damon Albarn and Goldie on Queen's New Year's Honour List

The Queen's New Year's Honour List is out, with Damon Albarn up for an OBE and Goldie also set to be rewarded. 

That's right, the Blur frontman will now be known as Damon Albarn OBE, while Goldie (real name Clifford Price) is up for an MBE for his his recording, film and charity work - reports the BBC

Albarn, who also records with Gorillaz, The Good The Bad & The Queen and as a solo artist, also works heavily in theatre, film soundtracks and does a great deal to promote African music. 

Other stars on the Honours List include actress Barbara Windsor, jockey AP McCoy, actor and DJ Idris Elba and tennis player turned TV personality Sue Barker. 

Gorillaz are set to drop a new album in 2016, and are reported to have been working with David Bowie.

"That’s next year. I’m working on it at the moment, and it’s going very well," said Gorillaz artist Jamie Hewlett of their return. "I’m very excited. I don’t want to say too much about it, but I’m at that phase of experimentation."

Albarn has also confirmed that he's written a new album for The Good, The Bad & The Queen.
