Field Day 2015 kicked off with huge sets from Caribou, Run The Jewels, FKA Twigs and many more yesterday (Saturday 6 June), as thousands descended upon London's Victoria Park.

Following a rousing performance from the Hackney Colliery Band, one of the first performances came from Spector on the main stage, who welcomed early-comers with a sunshine set of cuts from their debut alongside new numbers 'All The Sad Young Men' and 'Bad Boyfriend', proving an early highlight as the sun shone down on East London.

Meanwhile, Tei Shi proved why she's one to watch over in the Shacklewell Arms tent, with a set of atmospheric and sparse R&B.

Clarence Clarity and Awesome Tapes From Africa kept the Eat Your Own Ears main stage dancing well into the afternoon, before many crammed themselves into the Jagerhaus to catch the rising Rat Boy - battling sound problems to deliver an impressive performance of grunge-driven street poetry. He's poised to take Jamie T's throne, but for now, make sure you catch him this summer before he explodes.

LA Priest was the next huge draw of the day over in the Shacklewell Arms tent. Formerly of Late Of The Pier, Sam Dust lifted the mood with a blend of guitar noodling, electro beats and synth madness, in keeping with David Byrne at his most experimental or Kid A era Radiohead.

Sunlight may not be the best atmosphere to lose yourself to Kindness and Todd Terje, but London certainly gave it a good try as both brought in summer with one hell of a carnival atmosphere. While the soon-to-be-massive Jack Garratt wowed all in the Shacklewell Arms and Django Django brought the twisted pop of Born Under Saturn to the main stage, hundreds jammed themselves into the Resident Advisor tent to catch a glimpse of Run The Jewels.

"Let's burn this motherfucking stage to the ground," hollered Killer Mike, as RTJ proved themselves to be not only the highlight of the day but the kings of hip-hop in 2015, inspiring moshpits and countless screams of love from those with honourary "giant, invisible, 36 inch chains".

Elsewhere, FKA Twigs naturally brought the Crack Tent to capacity, with a mesmeric performance of elastic dance moves and gossamer melodies over subtle beats as she sent Field Day into a sweet swoon, just as Caribou arrived on the Eat Your Own Ears Stage to end on a high, as Dan Snaith's blissed-out, psychedelic electronica caught everyone in its grip and locked them in a dreamy haze of dance. With a career-spanning set that culminated the rapture of 'Can't Do Without You' and 'Odessa', Caribou kicked off summer in style.

Field Day continues today with performances from Ride, Patti Smith, Savages, Errors, Hookworms, Gaz Coombes, DIIV, Toy and many more.
