The Deftones' Chino Moreno's side-project Team Sleep have premiered a new track and announced a new album.
The track, which is a reworking of the band's classic 'Blvd. Nights', is taken from the upcoming album Woodstock Sessions - and is available via Rolling Stone now. After having released their self-titled debut way back in 2005, the group have only reconnected sporadically in order to tour and record demos.
Usually comprised of Deftones' Chino Moreno, Chuck X, Rick Verret, CrookOne, and Todd Wilkinson, the band has incorporated Gil Sharone of Marylin Manson on drums for the forthcoming album.
The track features heavy, powerful bass, piercing guitar and echoing vocals, and makes for a bad-ass and very promising sneak peak at the album.
Woodstock sessions are traditionally a cross between live performances and audience attended recording sessions, and result in the ultimate fan experience for anyone in attendance. Previous sessions have featured Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes and The Alan Evans Trio.

Earlier this year, Chino Moreno discussed progress on the new Deftones album, saying: "I think it's a little more of a heady record. I feel like we've gone into the songs and really dissected them. If something sounded a little straight, we took a left turn and made things a little screwy. We just tried something completely opposite, not to sabotage it, but to challenge ourselves and try new things that we haven't done in the past."
"It definitely feels like we've taken a step from our last record," he added. "But it's definitely a Deftones record, and it has all the elements that make us who we are. We're not going out there to change anything, other than just thinking outside the box."
He added: "We've got a good jump on everything. It feels good."
