This weekend is a big one when it comes to festivals - thousands of music lovers will be descending upon both the Isle Of Wight Festival and Donington Park for Download Festival, but don't be fooled by yesterday's heatwave - the weather is taking a turn for the worse.
Download, headlined by Muse, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson and joined by a host of other major rock heavyweights including Slash, Funeral For A Friend, Andrew WK, Judas Priest, Faith No More, A Day To Remember, Rise Against takes place at Donington Park in Leicestershire may be treated to a little bit of rain.
When we say bit, we mean Download will be headed for two days of wet weather.
BBC Weather reports that the weekend will be:
Friday 12 June: A fine day with spells of sunshine, with low cloud affecting the early evening. Highs of 21°C. Late evening will bring a higher chance of rain, with heavy downpours over night.
Saturday 12 June: A cloudy and mild day with high chances of outbreaks of thundery rain and top temperatures of 14°C.
Sunday 14 June: Cool with some chance of rain remaining and temperatures around 14°C.
Isle of Wight festival, featuring headliners like Fleetwood Mac, Blur, The Black Keys and The Prodigy, as well as appearances from Paolo Nutini, First Aid Kit, Billy Idol and The Charlatans, will be held at Seaclose Park on the island. It's time to dig out those wellies, if you haven't aready.
The BBC reports the weather forecast is as follows:
Friday 12 June: Hazy sunshine for most of the day, but thundery shows will become widespread by the afternoon, resulting in torrential downpours. It will feel hot and humid, with highs of 19°C. Overnight, the showers will continue until around midnight.
Saturday 12 June: A fine and mostly dry day with spells of sunshine. Temperatures will hang around the 16°C mark.
Sunday 14 June: Some rain still around, but with a more humid feel as temperatures get as high as 19°C.
