Iron Maiden have announced their return to music after five years, with the promise of a new double album in September.

The newly entitled double album Book Of Souls was recorded in Paris last year, and includes two tracks written entirely by Bruce Dickinson - the first time he's written anything on his own since Iron Maiden's 1984 album Powerslave.

Even better, Iron Maiden seem to be experimenting, as one of those songs has a run time of over 18 minutes, making it the longest song the band have ever recorded.

The artwork for Book Of Souls can be seen below:

The album comes after reports that Bruce Dickinson is now in the clear after a cancer diagnosis, which had previously slowed the recording and release of the new album. However, upon doctors' advice, Iron Maiden have suspended plans for a tour until 2016, in order to give Dickinson enough time to fully recuperate and be be ready "for the rigours of Maiden live performances."

The track listing for Book Of Souls is as follows:

Disc 1
01. If Eternity Should Fail (Dickinson) 8:28
02. Speed Of Light (Smith/ Dickinson) 5:01
03. The Great Unknown (Smith/ Harris) 6:37
04. The Red And The Black (Harris) 13:33
05. When The River Runs Deep (Smith/ Harris) 5:52
06. The Book Of Souls (Gers/ Harris) 10:27
