The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton has discussed the group's break-up and the possibilities of a band reunion.
Foxton addressed the topic of a seemingly ruled-out reunion of the band in an article he wrote for The Telegraph. Although he suggested there is 'no need for a reunion' he added: "never say never".
The Jam broke up in 1982, the former bassist described the confusing desicion from Paul Weller: "At each venue fans would ask us why we were splitting up, and at that stage neither Rick nor I knew the answer because it was entirely Paul’s decision: he wanted a clear end to the Jam, and although we tried to talk him round, we had to respect his wishes."
He went on to describe the strange atmosphere after their last gig: "After the show we went our separate ways, as happened often at gigs that our friends and families attended – but this time we stayed apart. It didn’t really hit me until the next morning. I woke up in the Grand hotel on the seafront with a very thick head, thinking, ‘Well, that’s that then. What do we do now?’"

He finished up with a questionable statement: "We’re happy doing our own thing, so there’s no need to get back together for the sake of it. I’d never say never, though."
Frontman Paul Weller is notouriously against reunions, earlier this year he said: "there's not enough money in the world" to tempt him.
Bruce Foxton is reportedly working on new material, whilst his bandmate Paul Weller is currently on the road in support of his latest solo album Saturns Pattern. The modfather will return to the UK in November, the dates are as follows. For tickets and more information, click here.
