Bloc Party are continuing on with their new record despite the departure of founding members bassist Gordon Moakes and drummer Matt Tong.
However, in conversation with Australia's Triple J radio, Okereke confirmed that "we are a band".
No names have been given but the band will not be functioning as just a duo of Kele and Russell Lissack: "I do know whatt he make-up of the band is going to be but I don't think I'm allowed to talk about it just yet because I think things are still being finalised. We are a band. We're better than we ever have been so I'm excited to showcase that."
Discussing the upcoming record, Kele described the new material as being: "the most gentle music we've ever made and the most abrasive". Try your best to imagine what that would sound like.
He continued: "It's sounding awesome, if I do say so myself, but right now we're kind of in the middle of it, beavering away at it". It was also revealed that Bloc Party has incorporated a choir during the recording sessions.

The first details of the new Bloc Party record arrived in May when the Lissack/Okereke duo released a 20 second teaser of recording sessions.
During an interview with Triple J back then, Kele also previewed an acoustic version of a new track entitled, 'Exes'.
