Ian Curtis' kitchen table has, once again, turned up on eBay. The reasoning behind the reselling is to fund a god-awful band called, Always The Way - we're not joking.
About two years ago, the table in question showed up on the online auctioning site by the hand of seller Tel Harrop who acquired the furnitute after Deborah Curtis sold the house and all it's possessions following Curtis' suicide.
Now, the table has returned to the public market. At time of writing, there have been 9 bids in total and the going price is £510.00 however, this is totally subject to change. Terry Harrop has returned to the site with a lengthy note that details the struggles of Harrop's struggling rock band.
Here's the short and long of the description: "This is the reason for selling my Joy Division Collection, this is the reason why the Table amongst other things have gone on Ebay. I need to properly record my own compositions and the bands compositions, instead of leaving behind some dodgy You Tube videos as my Legacy and the bands legacy."
"The money raised will go towards band equipment and recording equipment so that we can finally fully realise the potential of the songs and melodies we hear in our heads and hearts."
A noble cause indeed. Check out a track from Harrop's band, Always The Way, below to see if it would be worth your investment. Spoiler: It isn't.
