Prepare for Purple Fever to grip the nation once again - it looks like Prince is returning for a UK tour this month.
- UPDATE: The tour has now been announced
His Royal Badness has caused quite the storm over the past couple of years - after tearing around the UK with a run of last minute and impromptu gigs as part of his Hit N' Run tour with 3RDEYEGIRL, closing it off with a secret gig at Koko.
Now, the Purple One looks set for a comeback, with The Line Of Best Fit reporting that he declared that he'd be coming to Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham and London in November before heading to Europe next month as part of his 'Prince Spotlight: Piano & A Microphone' tour.
"Why do this now? For several reasons," Prince is said to have told the crowd at a press conference in his Paisley Park home. "For starters it is a challenge. I rarely get bad reviews because this is something that's been perfected for over 30 years. You have to try new things. With the piano it is more naked, more pure. You can see exactly what you get."
To further tease fans of the stripped back tour, Prince took to Twitter:
Prince alone with his piano was epic. You could hear a pin drop. Prince alone with his piano was epic. You could hear pic.twitter.com/YfFJEkumps

Prince dropped his latest album HIT N RUN, exclusively via Tidal earlier this year.
"3RDEYEGIRL didn't play anything on the record, so I think that it's definitely more a digital-sounding record because it's just Prince and I," the album's producer Joshua Welton told Gigwise of the chances of Prince hitting the road with this record. "Donna played a guitar solo on one of the tracks with 3RDEYEGIRL doing backing vocals. But Prince can take anything and make it into music, and make it live."
