Olly Murs has taken to Twitter to apologise for him monumental blunder on X Factor over the weekend, during which the 'Troublemaker' accidentally revealed who had received the fewest votes early, forcing co-host Caroline Flack to step in and stop him.
Monica Michael and Anton Stephans found themselves in the bottom two during Sunday night's X Factor results. After judges failed to come to a consensus on who should be eliminated, the decision was supposed to be returned to the hands of the public.
Rather than announcing this though, Olly Murs said, "Just to clarify, I did say we'd go to deadlock, but unfortunately Monica you are going home I'm afraid, so Anton -", but before he could finish, Caroline Flack stepped in, and said, "No Olly, she's not, no. We're going to deadlock. Judges, we're going to deadlock."
"She's not going home? Sorry, that's my fault. I apologise for that, sorry Monica. I do apologise. I made a mistake, I do apologise." He was then handed an envelope revealing which act had received the fewest public votes - and Monica Michael was sent home, this time for real.
The gaffe led some viewers to speculate that the results are fixed, but it's more likely that Murs either miscalculated the judges' votes, or received the news via his earpiece prior to being handed the envelope.

Murs subsequently took to Twitter to apologise for his mistake, while former presenter Dermot O'Leary, as well as Flack, stepped in to defend him.
